I have bought things on ebay before but nothing as expensive. I’ve been looking at “new in box” laptop/notebooks and just don’t understand why people are selling them so cheap if they are “new”. I found one for around $300.00 on ebay and it’s closer to $700.00 in the store. Just wondering if anyone has or would buy one there. What brand would you avoid?

There’s so many different options! I don’t want to spend over $300.00 for a used (refurbished) laptop, but I want it to be fast & reliable. I don’t know much about brands like E-machines or Aspire, and I’m more comfortable with Dells, Gateways, Sonys (How, I wish!). Should I buy on Ebay? or is it more advisable to purchase at BestBuy, or a place similar that there’s more of a reliable seller.
