My friend had her cell phone stolen a few weeks ago.
Of course she contacted the police and her cell provider to suspend her account.
She needs a replacement phone and is long from satisfying her current contract with AT&T.
I am sure there is a plethora of stolen cell phones on eBay.
What I do not understand is how they can be reused.
Aren’t the phones serial numbers unique and therefore if attempted to activate would be useless?
With that said would eBay be a relatively safe place to buy a used phone that is NOT stolen?
I know if she goes to the AT&T store, they are only going to add insult to injury by “stealing” from her again by charging what IMHO is an overinflated retail price for a replacement.
Any other good options as well? Thanks!
