It may not be easy, but eBAY can be profitable

Any time is a good time to start selling on eBay.
But to be effective at it, you have to be willing to put in some time and effort. Clean and fix the item; upload multiple photographs; have a box or envelope ready to ship and know the accurate shipping cost; know the lowest price you’d be willing to accept for each item.
Do some research on each item - how much have similar items recently sold for? what’s important or unique about this item?
Look at other listings - what makes a good ad?

Don’t kid yourself that you’re going to make huge profits on his junk. You’ll probably do better than a garage sale, but unless the item is rare or unique, people aren’t going to go crazy or pay more than they have to.
