whats the best make of vintage cameras to buy on ebay?

i don’t want a box or folding one, but a one that has a good focus.
any help will be greatly appreciated!
just something thats not majorly expensive. i have the nikon d40x, and would like an old one too, just for a bit of experience with different types of cameras

Quite a broad question, but older Leicas and Japanese rangefinders (Canon, Nikon) are both useful and a good investment.
Don’t expect any bargoons, though, because many other people have also realized this.

What are you trying to do? Are you wanting something to make big prints from or just something to carry?
I really liked my Mamiya C-330 because it had a large format and interchangeable lenses. I printed lots of big prints from them.
More information on what you want to do would help.
